Can you eat prosciutto while pregnant?

Yes, you can eat Prosciutto during the first semester of your pregnancy. Many doctors advise against the use of any kind of processed meat including Prosciutto in the later stages of your pregnancy. This is due to the high amount of sodium in Prosciutto which may be harmful to you and your unborn baby.
Processed meat can cause serious health problems during pregnancy because of the high amount of preservatives included in the preparation process.

You can eat prosciutto but only as a regular meal as part of your dinner. You shouldn’t have Prosciutto as a snack between meals because of the increased amount of sodium and fat content in each slice of prosciutto.
