He published a parody of Chayanne’s song “Torero” on March 14, 2012, changing the song’s name and lyrics to “Minero” in order to make a reference to the computer game Minecraft. With approximately 100 million views as of today, it is the most watched video in the channel’s history. The channel and Rubius’s fame grew steadily over time. His channel gained 200,000 followers on July 22, 2012. He posted a video on July 29 in which he first met Mangel face to face. When they were both adolescents, Rubius and this other Spanish YouTuber connected on message boards online. When Rubius and Mangel signed a deal with the production firm BGames, they declared that they would both go to live together in Madrid. They had to devote their time to making films on the platform there. His channel surpassed 300,000 subscribers on September 16, 2012.
In Chatroulette on October 7, Rubius posted a video of himself. A website for video conferences is chatroulette.
