Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa, professionally known as Joeboy, is a singer and songwriter from Nigeria. In 2017, Mr. Eazi of the record label “Empawa Africa” found him. His musical genre is that of Afro pop and R&B. He was born in Lagos State, Nigeria, on 21 May 1997.

Born Joseph Akinfenwa-Donus, Joeboy used his $3,000 to film his “Faaji” music video; he became one of 10 acts chosen for a mentorship boot camp in South Africa within a month, and an additional $50,000 in funding was granted to one of two artists.
Joeboy, who studied human resources at the University of Lagos, had only sung in social media clips before joining #emPawa100, despite growing up in a musical family—his father played the church organ, his brother played the guitar, and his sister sang in the choir. He says, “I was the only one who did not play an instrument or take part.” “It subconsciously seeped into me.”
Joeboy released the easy-listening love song ‘Kid’ in March, which reached the top 10 charts for Apple Music in Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya.
