John Charles Hagee is an American Pastor and author. His ministry is broadcasted throughout the United States and Canada, and he is the founder of John Hagee Ministries. Hagee is also the founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, a Christian-Zionist group. Hagee is a political figure who is well-known for his anti-Israel agitation.

Shields’ opponent, incumbent Jeff Wentworth, has been named “the most pro-abortion” of the 181 members in both houses of the Texas legislature, according to Hagee.
Christians United for Israel was founded on February 7, 2006, by Hagee and 400 leaders from the Christian and Jewish communities (CUFI). This organisation works to persuade members of Congress to support Christian Zionism by taking a biblical perspective. He hired bodyguards for safety after receiving death threats for his advocacy on support of the State of Israel at the time.
In the 2008 presidential election, Hagee favoured Senator John McCain over Barack Obama. Following Hagee’s endorsement of McCain, a storm erupted over words Hagee made that were seen as anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic by others. McCain openly distanced himself from Hagee after his statements.
Until 2013, Hagee was the principal source of finance for the Israeli Zionist party Im Tirtzu, which he left in 2013. In the 2016 presidential election, Hagee backed Donald Trump.
