Lee Joo-Heon is better known by the stage name Joohoney. He is a rapper and songwriter from South Korea. He is a member of the South Korean boy band Monsta X, which was created in 2015 through Mnet’s survival show No. Mercy.

2014: Debut and career beginnings:
Prior to his premiere with Monsta X, Joohoney was a member of the Starship Entertainment project group Nu Boyz, which was created in August 2014. In December 2014, the quartet performed at the opening show of the Starship X concert and posted multiple mixtapes to their company’s YouTube channel.
In December 2014, Starship Entertainment and Mnet launched a competition program called No. Mercy, and Joohoney was chosen as part of Starship Entertainment’s new boy group Monsta X on the final episode of the show, along with six other participants.
2015–2016: Show Me the Money 4 and Tribe of Hip Hop:
Joohoney released “Coach Me,” a collaboration track with San E and Sistar’s Hyolyn, in January 2015. Joohoney and fellow group member Kihyun also appeared on the soundtrack for the South Korean drama Orange Marmalade for the song “Attractable Woman,” which was released in May 2015 and produced by Crazy Park and his team.
Joohoney competed for the fourth season of Mnet’s rap competition series, Show Me the Money, in the summer of 2015. He advanced to the third round, where he was eradicated in a one-on-one match against rapper Lee Hyun-Joon, but he was later brought back for a second chance, which he lost to One.
In 2016, he was one of the producers for JTBC’s hip-hop competition show Tribe of Hip Hop, and he was the show’s youngest producer.
2017–present: Mixtape releases and other solo activities:
In 2017, he released a solo music video for the song “Rhythm.”
He released his mixtape DWTD on August 31, 2018. Joohoney released a music video for the track “Red Carpet” for the release, and a few months later, in October, he released a second MV, this time for the record “Should I Do.”
For English-language activities, he switched from his given name Jooheon to the stage name Joohoney in February 2019.
Joohoney made an appearance on Produce X 101 in June as a guest rap instructor for the trainees’ first elimination battle.
Joohoney took a break from Monsta X on January 11, 2020, to concentrate on his mental health. He resumed promotions in late March 2020, just before the release of their Korean EP Fantasia X.
Psyche, Joohoney’s new mixtape, was released on October 9th. On October 7, he pre-released a music video for the track “Intro: Ambition,” and then released a music video for “Smoky” simultaneously with the release of the mixtape. MTV’s Daniel Waters described “Smoky” as an “emo-k-pop crossover,” while Teen Vogue described the chorus as “a sort of angsty rock ‘n roll anthem” that both described as “cathartic.” Joohoney released a music video for the title track “Psyche” on October 21.
