Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT KUMAR MANGALAM BIRLA?
Kumar Mangalam Birla is a billionaire Indian businessman and the chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, one of India’s biggest conglomerates. He is currently the chairman of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, as well as the chancellor of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
He was born on June 14, 1967, in Rajasthan, India. He is raised in Mumbai. He received his high school diploma from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mumbai’s H.R. College of Commerce and Economics.
He later trained at London Business School and was awarded Master of Business Administration from the University of London in 1992. He is now an honorary fellow at LBS. He qualified from the College of Chartered Accountants of India as a chartered accountant (ICAI).
After his father Aditya Vikram Birla died in 1995, Birla took over as chairman of the Aditya Birla Group at the age of 28. The group’s annual turnover has risen from US$3.33 billion in 1995 to US$48.3 billion in 2019. Through his term as chairman, the group’s annual turnover has increased from US$3.33 billion in 1995 to US$48.3 billion in 2019.
Birla’s net worth was reduced to $6 billion between 2017 and 2019, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The major reason for this loss is “financial distress” that Vodafone Idea Ltd has been experiencing, in addition to the fall in “shares of flagship firms that produce chemicals, metals and cement.”
Birla has won several awards, including the International Advertising Association’s “CEO of the Year Award” in 2016; the US India Business Council’s “Global Leadership Award” in 2014; the Economic Times’ “Business Leader Award” in 2003 and 2013; Forbes India Leadership Award – Flagship Award “Entrepreneur of the Year 2012; NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards 2012, “Most Inspiring Leader”; and the CNBCT “Business Leader Award” in 2003 and 2013.
Birla is the Chancellor of the Birla Institute of Technology and Research, which he founded (BITS). He is the chairman of IIT Delhi, IIM Ahmedabad, and the Oxford University Rhodes India Scholarship Committee. He is an honorary fellow of the London Business School and works on the Asia Pacific Advisory Board of the London Business School.
Birla’s name was prominently mentioned in the Indian coal allocation controversy, a well-known political scandal that stemmed from the fraudulent allocation of coal blocks between 2004 and 2009. Birla was accused of corruption by the Central Bureau of Investigation in 2013 “influencing the then-coal minister to have the Talabira II block in Orissa allotted to Hindalco when it was only expected to go to public sector companies.
According to the investigation body, the block was initially assigned to Neyveli Lignite and Mahanadi Coalfields (both PSUs) in 2005, but in the middle of the year, Birla met Parekh, following which the screening committee’s earlier decision was reversed and Hindalco was included alongside the two. This resulted in a fictitious loss to the exchequer.”
After the Modi government took office in 2014, the CBI filed a closure complaint against Birla. In 2016, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi accused Birla’s company of paying bribes to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
When a FIR was lodged against Birla in the Coal Blocks allocation scam in 2013, Mr. Gandhi was allegedly “upset” at the CBI. According to Coomi Kapoor, Birla was “a benefactor of Rahul’s constituency, Amethi” at the time. “After becoming its biggest donor with a donation of Rs 36.4 crore between 2004-5 and 2011-12,” the Birla Group did not make any donations to the Rahul-led Indian National Congress in 2012-13.
At the same time, Birla was the Bhartiya Janata Party’s biggest donor, contributing Rs. 7.05 crore in 2012–13. The Narendra Modi-led BJP government finally named Birla as Chairman of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, as well as the Board of Governors of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (in 2016), and a non-official independent director of Air India (in 2018).
