Early Life and Career:

Bahl was born on 1 January 1983, New Delhi, India. He had completed his initial school education at Delhi Public School R. K. Puram (DPS) New Delhi. He applied to and received admission to the University of Pennsylvania.

He graduated from the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, earning two bachelor’s degrees in Entrepreneurship, Operation & Information Management from The Wharton School and Engineering from the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He finished the Executive Marketing Program at the Kellogg School of Management. He worked with Microsoft for a short period, as he went back to India due to a visa issue in 2008.

Focused and ambitious, Kunal ventured into the business while still a student. He set up a detergent business. He was successful at selling and marketed his goods to Walmart stores. Kunal embarked upon his career by working for Chartered Accountancy firms, Deloitte Consulting and Microsoft. Kundal soon branched off on his own and began his own company with Rohit Bansal. An offline couponing company was launched in 2007-08.

Snapdeal:

In 2010, Kunal founded Snapdeal in partnership with his childhood friend, Rohit Bansal. He has a knack for understanding customer behavioral trends. That is when ‘Snapdeal’ happened.

With his vision and perseverance, Kunal has made ‘Snapdeal’ into an online market-place. He has played his cards right; employing the best and arranging for global investments. Kunal plans to expand ‘Snapdeal’ by spearheading the creation of an ecosystem, providing not only products but also services. Kunal is instrumental in shaping Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Startup India initiative”.

Personal Life:

Kunal is married to a lady named Yashna. Yashna had a confectionary shop, and that’s how the couple met. They both love food and fly to faraway places to taste the delicacies and cuisine of these remote countries.
