The show became a huge hit, and Hall’s performance as ‘David Fisher’ was widely regarded as one of the biggest highlights of the series.

He was employed by the program for its whole, which spanned five years—two years after acting in ‘Six Feet Under,’ Hall acted in his debut film, Paycheck. Michael C. In 2013, he played in the movie ‘Kill Your Darlings,’ shown at the ‘Sundance Film Festival.’

After being off from the theater for a considerable amount of time, Hall debuted on Broadway in the play “The Realistic Joneses” in 2014. In the same year, he was also one of the leading actors in the production of the play ‘Hedwig and the Angry Inch.’ Even though Hall has built himself a highly successful career on television, his lifelong commitment to the theater has not wavered during his whole career.

Hall played the role of ‘Thomas Newton’ in the New York Theater Workshop stage production of ‘Lazarus,’ which was conceived by David Bowie and Enda Walsh. Hall performed ‘Leonard Swett,’ Abraham Lincoln’s adviser, in the documentary film ‘The Gettysburg Address,’ released in 2017. Dexter star Michael C. Hall talks about a potential comeback in one of the spinoffs in production. Hall, who portrayed the titular serial killer who only preys on other killers for eight seasons, recently returned for the limited series Dexter: New Blood due to his dissatisfaction with the show’s original finale. The series will consist of eight one-hour episodes.

It was reported earlier this year that two Dexter spinoffs were currently in production, one of which would center on a younger version of Dexter, and the other would investigate the history of the Trinity Killer. In a recent question and answer session held at Steel City Con (via ComicBook), Hall was questioned regarding the likelihood of him appearing in one of the upcoming Dexter spinoffs. He joked that he is too old at this point to play a young version of Dexter, but he also said that he is “open to the possibility of being involved.”

The actor was also questioned about the idea of a Dexter movie, which he feels definitely won’t happen. Showtime is reportedly interested in continuing the Dexter franchise with a prequel series focusing on a younger version of the titular killer. The network is also reportedly exploring separate spinoffs based on the backstories of famous Dexter characters, with the Trinity Killer being one of the potential candidates for such a series.

Even though the premium network has not confirmed these intentions for a spinoff, Showtime CEO David Nevins has said that he is “actively working on” the future of the Dexter property. Nevertheless, it seems unlikely that Hall will play a significant part now. Because both the Young Dexter prequel and the Trinity Killer prequel would take place several years before the events of Dexter, Hall would be too elderly to play a role in either one of them and in the case of Trinity Killer, he would not be engaged in the tale at all.

However, Hall could theoretically return for flash-forwards in either of the two planned prequels. Since the actor who plays Dexter is open to being engaged, he has the opportunity to either reprise his role as an executive producer, which he previously had on the shows Dexter and New Blood or work as a consultant for the creation of the Young Dexter series that is now in production, given that he is more familiar with the character than virtually anyone else.
