Padmaja Chunduru is an Indian Bank’s CEO, Executive Director, and MD. She previously served as State Bank of India’s Deputy Managing Director. Andhra University awarded her a postgraduate degree. Padmaja Chunduru is a 58-year-old woman who was born in India.
CAIIB and Andhra University postgraduate in commerce Probationary Officer with the SBI since 1984. She served as the State Bank of India’s deputy managing director. She has also worked with SBI in the United States as the country manager. Credit Management, Corporate Lending, Retail Operations, Digital Banking, Treasury, and International Operations are only a few of her 33 years of experience.
SBI’s foreign markets and digital banking verticals were led by Padmaja. She was the bank’s country head in the US from September 2014 to August 2017, prior to taking on the position of DMD. She oversaw strategic strategy, corporate activity, risk control, and enforcement in SBI’s US offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles during this period. She played a key role in boosting local US industry by providing both syndicated and bilateral loans to US companies.
She had positive interactions with the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and state regulators. Padmaja has served as vice-chair of the board of directors and chair of the executive committee of SBI (California), an SBI affiliate bank headquartered in the United States. A press release released by the PACIFIC financial institutions in India and USIBC stated that she was a member of the boards of both the New York Board of Foreign Trade Trustees and the Pacific Rimers Society for International Bank in the City disclosed that she was a member of the PACIFIC Bank for International Commerce and the US-Asia Group.
Padmaja was previously the general manager of SBI’s corporate accounts division from October 2012 to August 2014, during which time she founded the CAG-BKC office. She was instrumental in forming and maintaining partnerships with major Indian conglomerates. She was in charge of underwriting new loans, maintaining asset quality, and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
