Perrie Louise Edwards is a British singer and a member of the girl group Little Mix. The group was created on The X Factor’s eighth series in 2011, and they became the first group to win the competition. Perrie Louise Edwards was born on July 10, 1993, in South Shields, Tyne, and Wear, and grew up in the Whiteleas neighborhood. She is descended from Swedish, Irish, Scottish, and English ancestors. She is the daughter of singers Deborah “Debbie” Duffy and Alexander Edwards. Her parents divorced when she was a child and both remarried. She has an older brother, Jonnie Edwards, and a paternal half-sister, Caitlin Edwards. Before returning to South Shields, Edwards attended Radipole Primary School in Weymouth, Dorset. In South Shields, she attended St. Peter and Paul RC Primary School and Mortimer Community College before transferring to Newcastle College, where she received a BTEC in Performing Arts. As a teenager, Edwards spent two years in Hamilton, New Zealand.
She started dating singer Zayn Malik in May 2012. The couple got engaged in August 2013 but divorced in August 2015. It was revealed in February 2017 that she was dating English professional footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. She has esophageal atresia, which causes a bisectional scar on her stomach, as well as anosmia.

Her first audition on The X Factor was for Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know.” Edwards and Jesy Nelson were assigned to the Faux Pas group, while Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock were assigned to the Orion group. However, neither group made any progress. Later, it was decided to bring the four back together to create the four-piece group Rhythmix, and they developed it to the judges’ houses.
