Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT RACHEL BANHAM.

Rachel Banham

Rachel Banham is a professional basketball player from the United States who currently competes for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Banham was born on July 15, 1993. Banham played guard for the women’s basketball team for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, where she established several team records. During the 2016 WNBA draft, the Connecticut Sun used the fourth overall selection to choose Banham.

On February 25, 2020, Banham was included in a deal that sent her to the Minnesota Lynx. In addition, on January 2, 2022, it was revealed on several social media platforms that she and her fiancé, Andre Hollins, had engaged at Williams Arena. Banham received his diploma from Lakeville North High School in Lakeville, Minnesota, in 2011. She was already playing on the varsity basketball team in the eighth grade.

She scored 17.8 points per game during her senior season, grabbing 5.3 rebounds and dishing out four assists. She guided her team to a record of 29–3 and their conference title with these figures. After receiving her high school diploma, Banham continued her schooling and career as a basketball player at the University of Minnesota.

During her first year, Banham started all 36 of the team’s games and was honored to be selected to the first All-American First Team and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. In her first year of college basketball (2011–2012), she had a scoring average of 16.1 points per game, which placed her 97th overall in the country. During her sophomore season (2012–2013), she had a scoring average of 20.7 points per game, putting her in second place among sophomore scorers in NCAA Division 1.

She had a Junior year average of 22.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game during the 2013–2014 season. Banham had only played ten games before she sustained an ACL injury that ended her season at the beginning of her senior year (2014–2015). This injury ended her eligibility for postseason participation. Before she tore her ACL, she was ranked among the top five players for the next season to keep an eye on by ESPN.

Later, she was granted a medical hardship waiver to participate in the 2015–2016 season. She had a fantastic season in her senior year, during the 2015–2016 basketball year, when she returned to the floor. She was a nominee for the John R. Wooden Award and was voted Big Ten Player of the Year. Banham returned from the time off she had to take due to her injury and became the all-time top scorer for the Gophers while also tying an NCAA record in a game where she scored 60 points versus Northwestern.

With 3,093 points scored throughout her collegiate career, Banham was able to cap off her academic career on a triumphant note, becoming the sixth-leading scorer in the history of NCAA Division I women’s basketball and the all-time scoring leader in the Big Ten Conference. (As of the conclusion of the 2017–18 season, she is now seventh on the career scoring list. Since then, she has been overtaken by Kelsey Plum of Washington, the current Division I all-time scoring leader, and Kelsey Mitchell of Ohio State, the new Big Ten lifetime scoring leader. Both of these players played from 2015–2018.

Banham’s senior season was one of the most memorable seasons in Gopher’s basketball history and one of the most memorable seasons in NCAA basketball history. During the 2016 WNBA draft, the Connecticut Sun made the fourth overall selection: Banham. Banham participated in 15 games for the Sun during her first season with the team and averaged 10.9 minutes of playing time, 3.7 points, one assist, and one rebound. She shot 41% from the field and 35% from beyond the arc during that season.

Her rookie season was cut short because she tore her medial collateral ligament and underwent microfracture surgery on July 10. 2018 was Banham’s most incredible year with the Sun, as she averaged a career-high 5.2 points per game throughout that season. She only played for the Connecticut Sun for 11.4 minutes per game over her first four seasons with the team, during which she averaged 4 points, one assist, and one rebound. She did not receive much playing time over her tenure in Connecticut.

Banham was traded to the Minnesota Lynx on February 25, 2020, as part of a sign-and-trade transaction that included the Sun receiving a second-round draft pick in 2021. She reached many career highs during the 2020 Bubble Season in Bradenton, averaging 17.4 minutes of playing time, 6.9 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 rebounds per game. Her gains were evident throughout this time. On September 12, she had her most excellent fun since becoming a professional when she scored 29 points, had a career-high ten assists, and made seven three-point shots against the Indiana Fever.

Banham’s position on the club was reduced during the 2021 season due to the additions of Kayla McBride, Natalie Achonwa, and Aerial Powers during the summer. This led to a shift for Banham. Banham was released from her contract with the Lynx on June 29 to make some room for salary limit purposes in Minnesota. On July 5, the Lynx re-signed Banham to an agreement that would keep her with the club for the remainder of the season after she was released from being subject to waivers.

Rachel Banham, a graduate of the University of Minnesota who is now playing for the Minnesota Lynx, was elevated to assistant coach for the Gophers women’s basketball team on Monday. Banham was heightened by the new head coach of the Gophers, Dawn Plitzuweit, after the Gophers alum re-joined the team as director of quality control under the previous head coach, Lindsey Whalen. Banham is a former player for the Gophers.

In addition to her new responsibilities as an assistant coach, Banham will do the tasks associated with the director of the quality control post. Because of his fractured thumb, Banham is now sidelined for the Lynx. In her fourth season with the Lynx, the former Lakeville North standout has a 5.5-point scoring average and plays 14.5 minutes per game. The Lynx announced on Thursday that guard Rachel Banham would be out for some time due to a fracture in her right thumb that she sustained on July 9 during a match against the Las Vegas Aces.

The team adds that Banham was diagnosed with a fracture in his right thumb after visiting with hand surgeon Sanjeev Kakar, MD, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Despite the diagnosis, Banham will not need surgery for his injury. According to the team, Banham and the surgeon “created a plan of care that will be treated non-operatively,” and the patient “will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.”

Banham sustained the injury on July 9. Still, Lynx Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Cheryl Reeve said after Tuesday’s loss in Atlanta that the guard tried to play through the injury on July 12 until the Lynx training team conducted imaging on her hand, which resulted in her being placed on the Lynx inactive list. Banham was placed on the inactive list after the imaging was completed.

Banham is now in her eighth season in the WNBA and her fourth with the Minnesota Lynx. So far this season, Banham has participated in 20 games for the Lynx and is averaging 5.5 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in 14.5 minutes of bench time. Minnesota will miss her offensive boost off the bench, particularly her team-leading 36.8% shooting percentage from three-point range.

Banham had been enjoying some of her finest basketball of the season before the injury, averaging 8.4 points and 3.4 assists over 15 minutes in her past five games. Before the injury, Banham had played in all of the season’s games. The cherished Minnesota native joins other injured or inactive players Jessica Shepard (non-COVID sickness) and Aerial Powers (ankle), who are currently on the Lynx roster. However, Powers was upgraded to probable and should be on the road to return to the rotation as soon as Thursday against the Los Angeles Sparks.
