Rick Caruso is an American business magnate who has amassed a fortune in the billions of dollars. He is the founder and CEO of Caruso, a real estate firm based in the United States. He was born on January 7, 1959, in the city of Los Angeles, California. Henry Caruso, his father, was the founder of Dollar Rent-A-Car and the owner of a number of car dealerships in Los Angeles. Gloria, his girlfriend, used to be a billboard model.

Rick graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, the Trojan Knights, and a J.D. Margaret Martin Block Scholar, she earned her law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1983. He was named the Alumnus of the Year by Pepperdine School of Law in 1995.

He also owns the Palis Palis Palace, Del Playa, and the Rosewood Miramar Beach in Santa Barbara. The corporation was accused of engaging in activities intended to chill free speech about the Armenian Genocide at The Americana in Glendale, CA on two occasions during his time as CEO, in 2015 and again in 2017.

Despite media outcry about the company’s decision, Caruso refuted the claims and reaffirmed its pledge to treating everyone equally and reasonably.

He has given talks on real estate issues at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, the USC Price School of Public Policy, and the Milken Institute Global Conference. Caruso is a guest panellist for the International Council of Shopping Centers last year.

Caruso was elected to the Los Angeles Coliseum Commission in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the affairs of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the adjacent Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena. During his time on the commission, Caruso called for restructuring, including the retirement of the general manager and the creation of a new regulatory board to replace the commission. He argued that rave parties should be prohibited at the two venues.
