Sahaya Sheelan Shadrach is better known by his screen name Sadhu Kokila, is an Indian singer, actress, film director, and producer who works in Kannada cinema. He is also an occasional screenwriter and lyricist.
Sadhu Kokila was born on March 24, 1966, in Bangalore, Mysore, India, to Christian parents Natesh and Mangala. He was born into a musical family, with his father playing the violin in the Karnataka Police Department’s music band and his mother and sister becoming playback singers. Layendra Kokila, Sadhu Kokila’s brother, is also an actress. Kokila attended Bangalore’s St. Joseph’s Indian High School. Upendra, the director of Sheelan’s debut film Shhh!, gave him the stage name Sadhu Kokila.
