Sanjay Mishra (born October 6, 1963) is an Indian film actor who is best known for his work in Hindi cinema and television. He made his acting debut in the 1995 film Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India! as a graduate of the National School of Drama. Rajkumar (1996) and Satya (1997) are two of his later films (1998). During the 1999 Cricket World Cup, he also played Apple Singh, a “sign” used by ESPN Star Sports. For his role in Ankhon Dekhi, he won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor in 2015.


Sanjay Mishra was born in Darbhanga, Sakri, Narayanpur, Bihar, to a middle-class family. Mishra’s father, Shambhu Nath Mishra, was a Press Information Bureau employee, and both of his grandparents worked for the Indian government. He moved to Varanasi when his father was relocated, where he studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya BHU. Mishra enrolled at the National School of Drama in 1989 and graduated with honours.

Before he got the chance to stand alongside Amitabh Bachchan in a Mirinda advert, he did a lot of advertisements and small movie roles.
