Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT SAUMITRA KHAN?
Saumitra Khan is an Indian politician who has served in the Lok Sabha since 2014, representing the West Bengal constituency of Bishnupur. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2019 and is presently the president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha West Bengal (as of December 2020).
Khan began his political career with the Indian National Congress and was elected to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly from the Katulpur constituency. He transferred to the ruling Trinamool Congress in 2013. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Bishnupur constituency in the 2014 Indian general election. He migrated to the Bharatiya Janata Party, the ruling party at the center, in early 2019. Following his defection, a police report was filed against him for allegedly extorting money from job seekers. He was barred from entering his constituency by the Kolkata High Court. He won by a margin of more than 78,000 votes despite not holding a single political rally in the area.
Saumitra Khan Biography:
Khan was born on December 8, 1980, in Durlabhpur, Bankura district, West Bengal, into a Bengali Hindu family of Shunri jati. His father’s name is Dhanonjoy Khan and his mother’s name is Chhaya Rani Khan. He attended Panchmura Mahavidyalaya. When his wife, Sujata Mondal Khan, defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party, Saumitra Khan declared that he would divorce her soon. This has sparked a political squabble in West Bengal. Sujata Mondal Khan has announced her intention to join AITMC.
In the 2011 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, Khan was appointed to the assembly from the Katulpur constituency as a candidate of the Indian National Congress party. On 12 December 2013, he declared his intention to join the ruling Trinamool Congress party. He claimed that the Bankura district was being ignored by the state Congress unit. He officially joined the Trinamool Congress party four days later.
Khan was nominated to the 16th Lok Sabha from the Bishnupur constituency in the 2014 Indian general election. After being elected, he stated that his top priority as an MP would be to promote Bishnupur as a tourist destination and to protect the rights of Baluchari Sari workers. He defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party on January 9, 2019. As a result, he was expelled from his former party. According to the Times of India, Mukul Roy, who himself defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party, played a key role in recruiting Khan. Khan referenced “dynastic rule” in the Trinamool Congress and political instability in the state as reasons for switching parties.
Khan was accused of extorting money from job seekers based on false promises in February 2019. The Kolkata High Court declared that he could not be arrested, but that he could not enter Bankura. Khan was interrogated by Bankura police the following month. On April 12, the Supreme Court of India refused to lift the ban on him, despite the fact that he was permitted to enter the district to file his nomination papers. In Khan’s absence, his wife Sujata Khan began campaigning for him in the upcoming general election. Even without holding a roadshow or addressing a political rally, Khan was able to win by a margin of 78,047 votes from the same constituency.
