Senthil is an Indian actor from Tamil Nadu. He is well-known for his comedic roles, which he shared with fellow actor Goundamani. As comedians in the 1980s and 1990s, the duo dominated the Tamil industry.

Senthil Biography:

Senthil was born on March 23, 1951, in the Ramanathapuram District village of Ilanjambore. On May 14, 1984, he married Kalaiselvi. He is the father of two sons, Dr. Manikanda Prabhu and Hemachandra Prabhu. His two granddaughters were born in 2008 and 2014, respectively.

Career:

As actor:

Due to his father’s suspensions, he ran away from his village when he was 13 years old. He first worked in an oil mart, then as a waiter in a private wine shop, and finally in drama, where he began to hone his skills.

He began acting with Oru Koyil Iru Dheepangal in 1979, though his official debut was Ithikkara Pakki in 1980. He gradually made his way into the Tamil film industry, playing minor roles before landing a major role in the film Malayoor Mambattiyan. He has appeared in a number of successful movies alongside several of South India’s top actors and comedians. In most films, he appears in a slapstick double act with Goundamani. They were dubbed the “Laurel and Hardy of Tamil Cinema” for their work as a comic duo in many Tamil films.

Senthil began acting in Tamil teleserials in 2019, making his debut with Sun TV’s Rasathi.

Politics:

Senthil, who previously campaigned for the AIADMK, is now campaigning for the AMMK party. Senthil, appointed by T. T. V. Dhinakaran in AIADMK in 2017, replaced former minister Gokula Indira as organizing secretary. He later became a member of TTV Dinakaran’s Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam political party. Senthil, Kathirkamu, Raja Manickam, Devadas, and Henry Thomas were named the AMMK party’s five organizational secretaries in September 2019. Just before the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
