Tanikella Bharani is an Indian Actor, screenwriter, author, playwright, and director who mainly works in the Telugu film industry. He was born on 14 July 1954 in Secunderabad, Hyderabad, India. His age is 66 years old. The name of his parents is Not Known.
His grand uncles were Diwakarla Venkatavadhani and Viswanatha Satyanarayana. His great-granduncle was Divakarla Tirupati Sastry, a member of the Telugu poet duo Tirupati Venkata Kavulu.
He speaks Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi fluently and can converse in English. Tanikella is a devout Hindu who sings devotional songs in praise of Sri Shiva and Devi Parvati and encourages his fellow Hindus to not only read but also observe the Bhagavad Gita’s teachings. He is also a staunch follower of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), having backed new Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s previous election campaign.
In the year 1988, he married Tanikella Durga Bhavani. He lives in Hyderabad’s Yousufguda neighborhood. Teja and Soundarya Lahari are the couple’s two daughters. Teja made his acting debut in the movie Mr Lavangam (2012).
In 1984, he began his career as a dialogue writer for Kanchu Kavachum. Ladies Tailor, Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Recording Dance Troupe (1987), Varasudochhadu (1988), Chettu Kinda Pleader (1989), Swara Kalpana (1989), Shiva (1989), and Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi (1989) are some of the films for which he has written dialogues (2004). Tanikella also wrote and sang the Gundammagaari Manavadu lyrics (Bhale Bhaleti Mandu).
He has appeared in over 750 films, including Ladies Tailor (1985) and Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Recording Dance Troupe (1987), both of which he played Dora Babu. In 1989, he starred alongside Nagarjuna in Ram Gopal Varma’s hit film Shiva. With the release of Shiva, he acquired a lot of popularity, and his character Nanaji wowed the Telugu crowd.
In 1999, he also starred in the Hindi comedy film Main Tere Pyar Mein Pagal. In Samudram, his strong antagonistism won him the Nandi award for Best Villain. He began to play more mature roles after 2000, in films such as Manmadhudu (2002), Okariki Okaru (2003), Samba (2004), Malliswari, Godavari (2006), and Happy (2006).
Mithunam, a Telugu drama film directed by Tanikella and starring S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Lakshmi, was released in 2012. For this film, Tanikella Bhranai won the CineMAA Award Special Jury Award for Best Direction.
“The Lord Shiva in you and the Lord Shiva in me will conquer the world,” Tanikella wrote seven Telugu devotional songs for the album “Nee Lona Shivudu Galudu, Na Lona Shivudu Galadu.” He also performed the title songs for his own films Nalona sivudu galadu and Shahabash Raa Shankara.
