Tirath Singh Rawat is the 9th Chief Minister of Uttarakhand. He is an Indian politician. In the 2019 Indian general election, he was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, from Garhwal as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was also the former Minister of Education of Uttarakhand.
Tirath Singh Rawat was born in the village of Sinro in the Pauri Garhwal district of India on April 9, 1964. Kalam Singh Rawat was his father, and Gaura Devi was his mother. Rawat is completed a master’s degree in political science and a diploma in rural development got involved in student politics and rose through the ranks to become the organisational secretary of the ABVP Uttarakhand unit and then the national secretary of the organisation.
In 1992, he was also the president of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University’s student union. He went on to become the state vice president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Uttar Pradesh. From 1983 to 1988, he was a main worker for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, recognised as a pracharak.

He was elected to the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly (MLA) in 2012 and became the Uttarakhand BJP Leader in 2013.
He secured four of the six BJP mayoral positions in municipal corporation elections while serving as President of the Uttarakhand BJP. On May 23, 2019, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Garhwal constituency. He prevailed by more than 3.50 lakh votes over his closest competitor, Manish Khanduri. On March 10, 2021, he was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
