When Peter leaves the dance and puts on his handmade Spider-Man outfit, Schultz ambushes him, but Ned manages to rescue him in the nick of time. When Peter finally meets Toomes in his lair, Toomes tries to win Peter over to his cause. Toomes smashes the building’s support beams when Peter refuses to cooperate and then abandons him there to die.
Peter, who had narrowly escaped capture, overtakes Toomes on board the jet, which has sustained damage, and guides it into a shore close to Coney Island. A confrontation ensues between the two, and it is ultimately won by Peter, who saves Toomes’ life before handing him over to the authorities. When some time has passed, Peter finds out that Liz is leaving town, and they are forced to say their goodbyes to one another. During the decathlon team meeting, Happy Hogan approaches him and tells him that Tony Stark has offered him a vacation to the Avengers base.
