Aaron Charles Rodgers, the son of Darla Leigh (née Pittman) and Edward Wesley Rodgers was born on December 2, 1983, in Chico, California. He has English, Irish, and German ancestors. His father is a physician from Texas who played football for the Chico State Wildcats from 1973 to 1976 as an offensive lineman.

Darla Leigh is his mother’s name. He is the second of three sons in his family. Rodgers’s younger brother, Jordan, played quarterback at Vanderbilt University. Rodgers went to a variety of schools, including ‘Vose Elementary High School’ and ‘Pleasant Valley High School.’ He achieved numerous school records as a gifted player.

He attended Oak Manor Elementary School in Ukiah, California, after his family relocated there. Rodgers attended Vose Elementary School and Whitford Middle School in Beaverton, Oregon, and played baseball in the Raleigh Hills Little League as a shortstop, center field, and pitcher.

The Packers selected him in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Rodgers spent his debut season as the Packers’ backup quarterback behind Brett Favre, who led the team to a 4–12 record. Rodgers completed two of seven passes in his first NFL game and was sacked twice. He struggled throughout the preseason before finishing with two third-down conversions and a touchdown pass to tight end Ben Steele against the Tennessee Titans.

Rodgers broke his left foot when substituting in for an injured Brett Favre against the New England Patriots in a 35–0 loss at home on November 19, 2006, and he missed the rest of the 2006 season. When Brett Favre was injured in the second quarter of a Thursday Night Football game against the Dallas Cowboys on November 29, 2007, Rodgers stepped in. Rodgers threw for 201 yards and no interceptions on 18 attempts.

Following Brett Favre’s retirement in 2008, Rodgers was selected as the starting quarterback for the 2008 season. Rodgers established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL in his debut season, passing for over 4000 yards and 28 touchdowns. His 2009 season was as impressive, as he threw 988 yards and completed 74.5 percent of his passes. In October 2009, he was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Month.

On August 29, 2018, Rodgers agreed to a four-year extension with the Packers worth $134 million, including a $57.5 million signing bonus. Rodgers concluded the following season with 4,002 yards passing, 26 passing touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Rodgers had a solid start to the 2020 season, going 32-of-44 for 364 yards and four touchdowns in a 43–34 win over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1. He was named AP Most Valuable Player and FedEx Air Player of the Year at the end of the season.
