Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT CHRIS LARSEN?

Chris Larsen is a business executive and angel investor popularly known for co-founding numerous Silicon Valley technology startups, including a peer-to-peer lending platform.

Chris Larsen Biography:

Chris Larsen was born in 1960 in San Francisco, California. His mother worked as a freelance illustrator, and his father was a United Airlines aircraft mechanic at San Francisco International Airport. Larsen attended San Francisco State University after high school, where he received a B.S. in international business and accounting in 1984. After college, he started working for Chevron, performing financial audits in Brazil, Ecuador, and Indonesia. In 1991, he earned an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Career:

Larsen started working at a mortgage lender in Palo Alto, California, in the early 1990s. After becoming friends with his coworker Janina Pawlowski, they leave their jobs together in 1992 to start a mortgage company. By 1996, they had shifted their emphasis from loans to the creation of a mortgage lending website.

The E-Loan website was made available to the public in 1997, and it quickly became known as one of the first online mortgage lenders in the United States. Borrowers can use the website to search for and shop for loans without paying the fees charged by brokers and sales agents. Later on, the website would start offering direct home equity and car loans as well. By 1998, E-Loan was having trouble funding its operations. Pawlowski had served as CEO for the first two years, and in 1998 she offered to switch jobs with Larsen, taking over the position of President.

E-Loan registered for an initial public offering in late March 1999, and it went public in June 1999. In the first quarter of 1999, the company processed $470 million in mortgage loans, and by the second quarter of the year, revenues had reached $4.6 million.

By February 2000, the market capitalization of E-Loan was estimated to be around $1 billion, with Larsen serving as both CEO and Chairman. During his tenure, E-Loan was the first company to provide consumers’ FICO credit scores for free.

Larsen has characterized himself as “radically pro-consumer,” and he became a vocal advocate of financial privacy in California in the early 2000s. In 2001, Assemblywoman Jackie Speier introduced legislation that would require consumers to opt-in before financial services companies could share or sell personal information such as bank balances, phone numbers, and social security numbers.

Larsen and John Witchel co-founded Prosper Marketplace in 2005, and Larsen served as CEO. From 2006 to 2009, Prosper performed a variable rate model, resembling an eBay-style online auction marketplace, with lenders and borrowers inevitably determining loan rates through a Dutch auction-like system.

Prosper registered its first prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2008, shifting its business model to use pre-set rates based on a formula analyzing each prospective borrower’s credit risk. Larsen was an outspoken supporter of the Occupy Wall Street movement in 2011, raising funds to feed protesters at the nearby OWS encampment in San Francisco.

Larsen co-founded the company OpenCoin in September 2012, which started developing a new payment protocol called Ripple based on a concept developed by Ryan Fugger.

On May 14, 2013, OpenCoin revealed that it had closed the second round of angel funding, with Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, and IDG Capital Partners among the early investors.

Ripple was the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization in 2014, trailing only Bitcoin. Ripple Labs was also named one of the 50 Smartest Companies by MIT Technology Review that month.

Ripple Labs was then ranked fourth on Fast Company’s list of the World’s Top 10 Most Successful Companies in 2015.
