Dawn, formerly E’Dawn, is the stage name of Kim Hyo-jong. He is a P Nation rapper and songwriter from South Korea. Dawn is best known as a former rapper and songwriter of the South Korean boy band Pentagon, with whom he collaborated on nine EPs in both Korean and Japanese before leaving Cube Entertainment in 2018. Dawn was also a member of the group Triple H, which released two EPs with (then) bandmate Hui and labelmate Hyuna.
Dawn made his solo debut on November 5, 2019, with the release of his single “Money.”

Dawn was born on 1 June 1994, Hwasun-gun, South Korea. His birth sign is Sagittarius. Dawn revealed on August 2, 2018, that he has been in a relationship with Hyuna since May 2016.
Career:
Dawn made her debut as a dancer and rapper with the group Pentagon under Cube Entertainment on July 10, 2016, under the name E’Dawn. Pentagon Maker, a variety show, was responsible for the formation of the group. Despite being kicked off the show, E’Dawn was added to the group’s final lineup alongside Yan An and Shinwon. E’Dawn wrote lyrics for the tracks “Lukewarm” and “Organic Song” on the group’s debut EP, Pentagon, and also contributed music to the latter. He would continue to write songs and music for the band until his leaving, including “Runaway” and “Shine.”
On April 4, 2017, it was revealed that E’Dawn would be joining bandmate Hui and labelmate Hyuna in a new group called Triple H, as well as featuring in a new show called Triple H Fun Agency. The EP 199X, released on May 1, 2017, marked the group’s debut. E’Dawn contributed as a songwriter once more, writing all of the songs, including the lead single “365 Fresh.” The album peaked at number four on the Gaon Album Chart and number ten on the Billboard World Albums Chart. Retro Futurism, the group’s follow-up EP, was released in 2018. Along with the other three tracks on the album, E’Dawn contributed lyrics and music to the lead single “Retro Future.”
Following the announcement of E’Dawn’s relationship with Hyuna in August 2018, Cube Entertainment revealed that he would be missing from Pentagon’s upcoming EP, Thumbs Up!, though he would still be credited as a songwriter for “Naughty Boy” and “Skateboard.” On September 13, it was declared that Cube had terminated the contracts of E’Dawn and Hyuna, citing a failure to maintain trust with them. On November 14, 2018, E’Dawn’s departure from Cube and the Pentagon was officially confirmed.
Psy revealed on Instagram on January 23 that E’Dawn and Hyuna had signed a contract with his new label, P Nation. On October 18, it was declared that E’Dawn would make her solo debut as “Dawn,” with the release of her new single “Money” on November 5.
Dawn revealed in September 2020 that he will make a comeback with his first EP “Dawndididawn,” which will be released on October 9, 2020. The title track, “Dawndididawn,” featured Jessi, another P Nation artist.
On January 29, 2021, was released his second collaboration with HyunA, “Party, Feel, Love”. He also contributed to the creation of her new single “I’m Not Cool.”
On March 3, he appeared in Demian’s new song “LOVE percent.”
