Dinesh Kumar Khara is a Chairman of the State Bank of India on October 7, 2020. He was the Managing Director of the State Bank of India’s GB&S division. He is a member of the Bank’s Board of Directors, where he oversees the bank’s non-banking subsidiaries. Asset management, life insurance, general insurance, custodial services, primary dealership, investment banking, broking, credit cards, pension funds, and factoring services are among the financial services provided by the subsidiaries. He is in charge of supervising 18 Regional Rural Banks, which have over 5,500 branches and serve over 55 million customers. In addition, he is in charge of the Bank’s Risk Management and Compliance departments, as well as the Information Technology division.
Mr. Dinesh Kumar Khara, 56, has a Masters of Business Administration and is a post-graduate in Commerce from FMS New Delhi. He is also a member of the Indian Institute of Bankers as a Certified Associate (CAIIB). Mr. Khara entered SBI as a Probationary Officer in 1984 and has over 33 years of experience in retail credit, SME/Corporate credit, deposit mobilisation, international banking activities, branch management, and other areas of commercial banking.

MD (Global Banking & Subsidiaries), MD (Associates & Subsidiaries), MD & CEO (SBI Mutual Funds), and Chief General Manager – Bhopal Circle are some of the primary roles he has held. For an overseas assignment, he was even assigned to SBI in Chicago. He oversaw the International Banking Group, Corporate Banking, and Global Treasury Operations, as well as the Bank’s non-banking divisions, such as SBI Cards, SBIMF, SBI Life Insurance, and SBI General Insurance, among others, as Managing Director.
