The South African television and radio broadcaster DJ Sbu was born Sibusiso Leope on May 28, 1977, in Tembisa. He has had a significant impact on the industry, as seen by his body of work. He attended Technikon Witwatersrand University after graduating from high school. He earned a certificate in electrical engineering after four years of study.

His broadcasting career began in the late 1990s. In 1998, DJ Sbu was hired by Tembisa Info Radio, a community radio station in South Africa. He worked as a weekend programme producer and host for about a year and a half. Sibusiso left the radio station in 1999 and joined YFM, a station based in Johannesburg, in 2000. He developed and hosted a weekend show called Beauty and the Beast with Angela Ludek at his new place of employment. His extensive production knowledge allowed him to experiment with a wide range of products. In Hang Time, he serves as the film’s creative mind (2000).

In 2000, the soap opera Generations highlighted Sibusiso, introducing him to other TV show producers. Still, he appeared in a Toyota Tazz commercial in 2000. Sibusiso appears in a World Online promo as well. This actor also appeared in the 2001 television series Isidingo and the drama series It Rained Last Night as a lead actor.
