Kim Taehyung is a South Korean singer. His stage name is V. He is a member of the South Korean boy band BTS as a vocalist. On Mnet’s M Countdown on June 13, 2013, he made his debut as a member of BTS with the song “No More Dream” off their first single album, 2 Cool 4 Skool. V’s melody was combined with Jungkook’s original words for the song “Run” from the upcoming album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Part 2.
He also contributed to the music composition and lyrics for “Stigma,” a solo song from the album Wings. V has also unofficially released a version of “Hug Me” alongside bandmate J-Hope, as well as a cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You.”
V was one of the youngest winners of the coveted fifth-class Hwagwan Order of Cultural Merit medal, which the President of South Korea gave him together with the other members of BTS for their contribution to the dissemination of culture on October 24.
V collaborated with Swedish singer Zara Larsson on a song called “A Brand New Day” for the soundtrack album of their mobile game BTS World, which he co-wrote with bandmate J-Hope. It debuted at number one on the World Digital Song Sales Chart on June 14, 2019. He worked with bandmate Jimin on the song “Friends” eight months later, and he also helped compose and write his solo song “Inner Child” for their album Map of the Soul: 7.
V appeared in the song “Sweet Night” for the soundtrack of the JTBC drama Itaewon Class, which premiered on March 13, 2020. The song got positive feedback for its composition, vocal delivery, and friendly lyrics, and it debuted at number two on Billboard’s U.S. V released a solo tune named “Snow Flower” featuring Peakboy on December 25, 2020.
