Pankaj Tripathi is an Indian actor who is mostly known for his work in Hindi cinema. He made his acting debut in 2004 with a tiny role in Run and Omkara and has since appeared in over 60 films and 60 television series, earning him a reputation as one of the greatest performers of his generation. Tripathi’s debut came in 2012 when he was cast in the Gangs of Wasseypur film series as the antagonist.

He was primarily known for his negative parts in his early career, and he became associated with gangster figures. Later in his career, he took on a range of parts for which he received critical acclaim. Gurgaon, his debut film as a lead actor, was released in 2017. Newton, his 2017 film, was India’s official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.

Pankaj Tripathi made his Tamil film debut with Kaala, which was released on June 7, 2018. He also starred in the Amazon Prime online series Mirzapur and Mirzapur season 2 in 2018, as well as the Netflix web series Sacred Games in 2019.
