Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT SIDDARAMAIAH?

Siddaramaiah is an Indian politician. Since December 9, 2019, he has been the Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He was born on August 12, 1948, in a village named Siddaramanahundi in Varuna Hobli near T.Narasipura in the Mysore District. He went to Mysore University for his Sc and Bachelor of Law after having no formal education until he was ten years old. He comes from the Kuruba Gowda community and is the second of five siblings.

Siddaramaiah is the father of two sons from his marriage to Parvathi. Rakesh, his elder son and seen as his father’s political successor, died of multiple organ failure at the age of 38 in 2016. Yathindra, the surviving sibling, ran in the 2018 Legislative Assembly elections and won by over 45,000 votes from Varuna in Mysuru, which was formerly his father’s seat.

Siddaramaiah began his legal career as a junior under the supervision of Chikkaboraiah in Mysore, where he later taught law. Before 1978, he began his political career when Nanjunda Swamy, a Mysore lawyer, spotted him as a law graduate at the district courts. He was asked to run for the Mysore Taluka and was chosen. In 1983, he stood for the 7th Karnataka Legislative Assembly on a Bharatiya Lok Dal ticket from the Chamundeshwari constituency. This came as a complete surprise to everyone, and it earned him a great deal of respect and fame in the Old Mysore region.

Later, he became the first president of the Kannada Surveillance Committee (Kannada Kavalu Samiti), which was formed to oversee the introduction of Kannada as an official language. Siddaramaiah was re-elected from the same constituency in the 1985 mid-term elections and named Minister of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. He held various portfolios in Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde’s cabinet, including Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, and Transportation, at various times.

Siddaramaiah was dismissed from JD in 2005 due to disputes with H. D. Deve Gowda (S). After leaving the JD (S), he decided to create a “ABPJD” regional party in the state, but he didn’t because previous regional parties in Karnataka had failed. Following that, he received popular support from the lower classes and joined the Congress at a major public meeting in Bangalore, where Sonia Gandhi was present.

Despite a fierce campaign against him by Deve Gowda, Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, and Deputy Chief Minister Yeddyurappa in the Chamundeshwari bypolls held in December 2006, he won by a margin of 257 votes against M. Shivabasappa of the JD (S). He ran for the state Assembly from Varuna Constituency in 2008 and was re-elected for the sixth time.

On May 8, 2013, he was re-elected for the seventh time from the same constituency (Varuna). On May 10, 2013, he was elected as the Congress legislative party’s chief in the Karnataka assembly.

The by-elections for the 15 assembly seats were held on December 5, 2019. Despite Siddaramaiah’s trust in securing 12 of the 15 contested seats, the Congress only managed to gain two, with the JDS winning none. This was a significant disappointment for his leadership, and his own party members began to doubt his leadership. On December 9, Siddaramaiah resigned as Leader of the CLP and Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.

After Congress adopted secret balloting to elect a new chief minister, Siddaramaiah was elected as the new chief minister. He resigned as Karnataka’s chief minister on May 15, 2018, in line with the outcome of the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly election. He was also the first chief minister of Karnataka in 40 years to serve a full five-year tenure, and the second in the state’s history after Devaraj Urs. He also holds the distinction of presenting state budget for 13 times as a finance minister in Government of Karnataka. Facing complaints by the opposition of mounting debt on the state exchequer, he is recognised for fiscal prudence within the confines of the state’s Fiscal Accountability and Budget Control Act.
