Born Sicheng Dong is also known by the stage name WinWin. He is a singer and dancer from China. WayV’s lead dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist, and visual are all performed by him. He is a member of the South Korean male idol group NCT, as well as its sub-units NCT 127 and NCT U, though he has been out of the former group since 2018.
WinWin Biography:
WinWin grew up in the Lucheng District of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. He has lived in Beijing since he was a child due to his studies. With first place in art dance, he was admitted to The Affiliated Secondary School of Beijing Dance Academy in 2009.
When he was a freshman in high school, he was scouted by South Korean SM Entertainment scouts near the school. After being rejected once, SM officials did not give up and persuaded him, flying 9 round trips from Korea to China to cast him. He went to South Korea for a month of training before returning to China to finish his studies because he wanted to concentrate on his studies. He finished high school in two years, graduating a year early.
In 2015, he was popular for being admitted to many schools with outstanding strength: first in the country for Beijing Dance Academy’s dance performance, tenth in the Central Academy of Drama’s performance department, seventh in the Communication University of China’s performance department, and twelveth in the Shanghai Academy of Art and Design’s faculty of Arts. He was accepted into the Central Academy of Drama’s performance department. It was then that he decided to join SM Entertainment as a trainee.
Career:
Pre-debut:
On January 5, 2016, he and Kun were introduced as members of SM Rookies. However, prior to his debut as a member of NCT, he had participated in a variety of group activities. On April 9, 2016, he attended the 16th Annual Music Awards with NCT U, where he performed a solo dance performance and joined the other NCT U members in “The 7th Sense.” He made an appearance in the music video for “WITHOUT YOU” on October 10th. On May 9, the same year, he appeared as a trainee in the NCT group variety show “NCT Life in Seoul.”
Debut and promotions with NCT 127:
