Yeo Chang-gu is better known as Yeo One, his stage name. He is a singer and actor from South Korea. In October 2016, he made his debut as a vocalist in the South Korean boy band Pentagon. Aside from his group activities as a singer, he has also appeared in a number of television dramas.

Career:

2016–present: Debut with Pentagon and solo activities:
Yeo One appeared on Mnet’s reality survival show Pentagon Maker, which aired online via Mnet’s digital content brand M2. On Mnet’s M Countdown on October 10, 2016, he made his debut as a member of the Pentagon with the track “Gorilla” from their debut extended play, Pentagon. The song is defined as hip-hop with magnificent, powerful beats and a masculine brass sound. During the recording of the show, he made his acting debut as the leader of an idol group, Dexter, in the web drama Spark. The series was a financial success, attracting fans from all over the world.
In 2017, Yeo One was cast as the leading character in the KBS1 musical drama Joseon Beauty Pageant, which takes place during the Joseon Dynasty’s first beauty pageant. The drama also combines traditional music with modern sensations and vibrant images.
Yeo One read Hermann Hesse’s novel Youth, Beautiful Youth through Naver Audio Clip Audiobook in 2019. He was cast as the lead in the web drama Welcome to the Witch Shop. The drama contains fantasy elements focus on the concept of witch shops that can only be seen by those with eager wishes.
Yeo One returned to television in 2020 as a fictionalized version of himself in the Chosun entertainment drama Somehow Family. The show premiered in March 2020, but it was canceled after only two episodes due to unpaid staff. The show restarted filming in June, but due to scheduling conflicts, Yeo One was replaced by Cross Gene’s Shin Won-ho. Yeo One was cast as Nigel Bottom in the Korean remake of the comedy musical Something Rotten! in August. The play was performed from August 7 to October 18. Later that year, he was the cover model for Men’s Health Korea’s September 2020 issue.
Yeo One appeared in the web drama Nickname Pine Leaf for the SBS YouTube channel yogurD in February 2021, playing two different versions of himself: PD Yeo Chang-gu and Pentagon’s Yeo One.
