Vasundhara Raje is a former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and an Indian politician. She is a BJP affiliate. She is now the acting queen of Dholpur and the head of the Dholpur royal family.

Vasundhara Raje was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, on March 8, 1953. She is the daughter of the famous Scindia royal Maratha dynasty, Vijayaraje Scindia Shinde and Jivajirao Scindia Shinde, Maharaja of Gwalior.

She graduated from Presentation Convent in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Political Science from Sophia College, Mumbai, which is affiliated with Mumbai University.

On November 17, 1972, Vasundhara Raje married Maharaj Rana Hemant Singh of the royal Dholpur dynasty, but the couple divorced a year later. Dushyant Singh, her uncle, was elected to the Lok Sabha from Jhalawar, her former constituency.

Yashodhara Raje Scindia, the late Madhavrao Scindia, the late Padmavati Raje ‘Akkasaheb’ Burman, who married Kirit Deb Burman, the last ruling Maharaja of Tripura, and Usha Raje Rana, who married into the Rana family of Nepal, are her brothers.

Raje first joined the Indian political system in 1984. Initially, she was named to the recently founded Bharatiya Janata Party’s National Executive (BJP). She was also elected to the Rajasthan Assembly’s 8th session from Dholpur. In the same year, she was appointed Vice President of the Rajasthan BJP’s Yuva Morcha.

Ghanshyam Tiwari, a BJP MLA from Rajasthan, accused Vasundhara Raje’s government of wrongdoing and the BJP’s central leadership of protecting her. Raje is also guilty of naming “her cronies” to high-ranking positions.
