Jung Woo-Seok is also known as Wooseok. He is a rapper, singer, songwriter, model, and composer from South Korea. In October 2016, he premiered as a member of the South Korean boy group Pentagon, and in March 2019, he formed a duo with Lai Kuan-lin as Wooseok X Kuanlin under Cube Entertainment.

Wooseok was born on January 31, 1998, in Gwangju, South Korea. He graduated from Seoul’s School of Performing Arts in 2017. He used to play the violin and piano as a child, and he regularly competed and won awards.

Career:

Wooseok took part in Mnet’s reality survival show, Pentagon Maker. On October 10, 2016, he made his big debut with Pentagon with the song “Gorilla” from their self-titled EP.

Wooseok and Pentagon’s leader Hui co-wrote the Produce 101 Season 2 hit song “Never” and Wanna One’s debut title track, “Energetic,” in 2017. Later that month, Wooseok appeared alongside other Pentagon members as the idol group Asgard in the drama Hello, My Twenties! 2. In November, he appeared in the music video for labelmate Jeon So-debut Yeon’s song “Jelly.”

Wooseok debuted as a model for the designer brand R.Shemiste on March 24, 2018, during the 2018 F/W Hera Seoul Fashion Week.

On February 22, 2019, Cube Entertainment revealed that Wooseok would be joining labelmate and former Wanna One member Lai Kuan-lin in a new unit project. Wooseok X Kuanlin debuted on March 11, 2019, with the title track “I’m A Star” and their debut extended play, 9801. Wooseok co-wrote and co-produced both of the solo songs on the EP, “Always Difficult Always Beautiful” and “Domino.”

Wooseok was cast alongside Yoo Seon-ho in tvN’s new variety show, Decoding Meow, which debuted on January 5, 2020. Wooseok was spotlighted in Jeong Young-“Fine eun’s Day” on January 14, and he contributed to the song’s lyrics. Wooseok was confirmed as a contestant on the rap competition show Me The Money 9 in October. He received one pass and three fails from the producers during the 60 Second Team Trials and was thus eradicated from the show.

Wooseok was confirmed to make his web drama debut as the lead in Dingo Music’s Fling at Convenience Store on January 20, 2021. In February, he featured in the SBS YouTube channel yogurD’s web drama Nickname Pine Leaf, in which he played two different versions of himself: PD Jung Seok-woo and Pentagon’s Wooseok.
