Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT AHMED PATEL?

Ahmed Patel was an Indian politician who served in the Indian National Congress as a Member of Parliament. He was Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary.

Patel was born in the western Indian state of Gujarat on August 21, 1949, into a Bharuch-based agriculturalist family as the third child of Mohammed Ishikji Patel and Hawaben Mohammedbhai. His father worked in social services. He then joined the Indian National Congress’s Youth Congress, which is the party’s student wing.

In 1976, Patel married Memoona Ahmed Patel. The couple had a son and a daughter. He was noted for keeping a low profile and only interacting with the media on rare occasions.

Patel began his political career in 1976 when he ran for local office in Gujarat’s Bharuch District. In 1977, he was chosen by then-Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to run for the Sixth Lok Sabha seat from Bharuch. He went on to win the polls, as well as subsequent Lok Sabha elections in 1980 and 1984 and served as the Member of Parliament for Bharuch until 1989. He became the Parliamentary Secretary to then-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1985.

He had helped create the Narmada Management Authority to oversee the Sardar Sarovar Project in 1987 as a Member of Parliament. In 1988, he was named secretary of the Jawahar Bhavan Trust, and he is credited with completing the construction of the Jawahar Bhavan in time for the centennial celebrations of Nehru’s birth.

Ahmed Patel was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha for the fourth time in 2005. Between 2004 and 2014, despite being Sonia Gandhi’s chief strategist, he chose to stay out of the UPA government in the 14th and 15th Lok Sabha. According to former RAW chief N.K. Sood, he had a well-established connection to India’s most wanted man, Daud Ibrahim. He kept a low profile and stayed out of the spotlight. Patel is just the second Muslim to be elected to the Lok Sabha in Gujarat, following Ehsan Jafri.

He was Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary when she was president of the Indian National Congress. In 1985, he worked for former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as his parliamentary secretary. In 2018, he was appointed treasurer of the All India Congress Committee, succeeding senior party member Motilal Vora.

In order to discourage opposition, Gujarat state legislators were taken to the southern state of Karnataka, and select defectors were disqualified for disclosing their ballots before casting them in his last election to the Rajya Sabha in 2017. This was the first time in decades that a Rajya Sabha election in Gujarat was contested, as previous candidates had been elected without opposition.

Patel was one of the top troubleshooters, coordinators, and translators between the government and the party during the UPA government’s tenure, which lasted from 2004 to 2014.

To improve electrification in the district, he got Bharuch included as one of the first five districts to be covered under the then-launched Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana in 2005. One of his contributions to the area was the Sardar Patel bridge, which was built to relieve traffic congestion between the twin cities of Bharuch and Ankleshwar. Due to his proximity to the president, Sonia Gandhi, he was considered a part of the Congress party’s power base.

He died on November 25, 2020, from multiple organ failure caused by COVID-19. When he was diagnosed with COVID-19, he was admitted to the Medanta Hospital and placed in the ICU. His body was transported to his ancestral village in Gujarat, where he was buried.
