In 2012, after his junior season, rs football team. Bell rushed for 789 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore. Bell rushed for 1,100 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior, and 1,333 yards on 200 carries with 21 touchdowns as a senior. As a senior, he was named first-team All-Ohio Capital Conference Ohio Division. As a junior, Bell earned second-team All-OCC Ohio Division honours in basketball. He also competed in track and field at Groveport, where he ran the 100 and 200-meter dash and was one of the top high jumpers in the state.

Bell, rated as a two-star recruit by ESPN.com, was ranked as the nation’s No. 211 running back in 2010. Bell had limited scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Marshall, and Eastern Michigan despite being a three-year starter in high school, but he hoped to attend Ohio State. Donis Toler Jr., Bell’s high school principal, believed he was under-recruited and contacted Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio. Although Dantonio had heard of Bell, they had never personally scouted him or considered offering him a scholarship. Dantonio sent his running back’s coach to scout Bell at his high school basketball game after the football season ended.

After finishing his senior football season, he received a scholarship offer from Michigan State after a number of players got into trouble and Michigan State had open scholarships available with a running back need. He graduated from high school early in 2010 and enrolled at Michigan State the following spring semester.

Bell attended Michigan State University, where he played for the Michigan State Spartans from 2010 to 2012.  Freshman year He appeared in 13 games as a freshman in 2010, rushing for 605 yards on 107 carries with eight rushing touchdowns. Bell last played for the Baltimore Ravens, but he was released in the middle of the season. He attended Michigan State before being drafted 48th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He’s also had stints with the New York Jets and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Following a rookie season in which he rushed for over 800 yards, Bell burst onto the scene in his second season with the Steelers, totalling over 2,200 combined yards and making the Pro Bowl. Bell missed several games in 2015 and 2016 due to drug-related suspensions and injuries, but he still put up solid numbers and was named to the NFL Top 100 both times. In 2017, he had a league-high 321 carries for 1,291 yards, as well as 85 catches for 655 yards, and he was named to his third Pro Bowl.

The following year, Bell refused to sign the Steelers’ franchise tag, which resulted in him missing the entire 2018 season. He signed with the New York Jets the following off-season, but he never regained his previous level of success, and he was released by the Jets after less than two seasons. Following his release, Bell signed with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he spent the rest of his career.

The majority of analysts projected Bell to be a second or third-round pick out of Michigan State. NFLDraftScout.com ranked him as the fifth-best running back, and NFL analyst Bucky Brooks ranked him as the best overall running back.  He was given The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Bell in the second round, 48th overall, in the 2013 NFL Draft. He was the second running back chosen that year, trailing only Giovani Bernard, who was taken 37th overall by the Cincinnati Bengals.

I was invited to the NFL Combine and took part in all workouts and positional drills.
