Born on January 22, 1959, Linda Denise Blair is an American actress. Blair is best known for her role as the child Regan in The Exorcist film (1973), for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe Academy Awards. She took up her role in Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977) and was nominated for the Saturn Best Actress Award.


Blair was born and raised in Westport, Connecticut, St. Louis, Missouri. She began her career as a six-year-old child model and started to perform on the daytime soap opera of Hidden Faces (1968–69). Her first film show was in The Way We Live Now (1970). Blair was chosen from 600 applicants for her most remarkable role as Regan in The Exorcist (1973). She was awarded the Golden Globe and People’s Choice Award, and the Academy Award nomination.  Between those two films, Sarah T. – Portrait of Teenage Alcoholic (1975) and Sweet Hostage (1975) appeared at Born Innocent (1974), Airport 1975 (1974), Martin Sheen in the opposite direction.

Blair’s career took a new turn in the 1980s when she starred with actor Dirk Benedict in Ruckus in 1980.

Blair later worked in numerous films, mainly comedies, including the 1990 repossessed exorcist shipment and Scream’s cameo role (1996). She appeared in a Broadway Grease revival in 1997. She was regularly cast in the BBC TV show L.A. 7 (2000). She hosted Scariest Places on Earth for the Fox Family (2000-6).

In 2006, she played Detective Diana Ballard on TV Supernatural, helping Sam & Dean Winchester in the episode ‘The usual suspects’ aired on November 9, 2006.


In 2013 Blair took a part in the comedy web series Whoa! and since then has appeared in the feature The Green Fairy and the next Power: Sequel Revenge.

Linda Blair had to get used to the focus at the age of five, first as a model child, then as an actress when she was chosen from among the 600 applicants for the role of Regan the possessed child in The Exorcist (1973). But it was when it leaked how some parts of the role were not played by Linda (the demonic voice was dubbed Mercedes McCambridge and a stunt dummy was eight seconds used) that dream broke, and with that disappointment probably came the first blow to that which looked like the b Linda quickly gained the international fame.

However, when she was forced into the purchase of cocaine when she was 18, she was arrested and sentenced to three years’ probation. Linda was blacklisted in Hollywood because of the widely-publicized drug buffet, and her career soon became B-films and occasionally only TV visits.

Although her career has never come back to her former glory, Linda has demonstrated that she embraces change and from the 1980s she has played two leading roles in two cult classics: the female in jail movie Chained Heat (1983) and the female fatal vigilante film Savage Streets (1984). During the 1980s and 1990s, she continued acting in numerous films, including the exorcist spoof Repossessed (1990). In 1997 she also went to the Broadway stage and starred in the revival of “Grease” as “Rizzo.” She was once again the subject of a major re-release in the 2000s by the Exorcist, followed by a work hosting the hit Fox Family TV series Scariest Places on Earth (2000) that spent 6 years and followed Linda as she went to renowned “hunted” places around the globe.

Linda was born in St. Louis, Missouri, to a real estate agent, Elinore, and to a manager, James. She’s got a brother, Jimmy, and Debbie’s sister.  She now runs the Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation, a 501C3 non-profit organization deductible tax deductor that rescues and rehabilitates animals abused, neglected, and abandoned in the harsh streets of Los Angeles and in overcrowded and overcrowded cities and district animal shelters. She works and lives in the 2-acre rescue sanctuary in California in the “From Devil to Angel” segment of The Today Show. Blair allegedly went because she wanted to purchase pedigree puppies that the dealers sold. Blair allegedly held one of the puppies and returned to Connecticut. She kept in touch with dealers, allegedly to buy this puppy, but the phone was tapped by the Drug Enforcement Agency. They and over 30 others arrested Blair when the dealer successfully pushed her and her dog into purchasing cocaine, and she was accused of a conspiracy in Connecticut to buy cocaine from Florida. The police searched her bag, found amphetamines, and then charged her. The charge of possession was dropped and the charge of conspiracy reduced. She was given three years’ probation, was given a fine of $5,000 and was given at least 12 major public appearances to inform young people about the hazards of drug abuse.


Her dad, James, was a chief executive. Her mother, Elinore, was an immobilizer. She’s got a brother, Jimmy, and Debbie’s sister. Rick James dated. James’ 1983 hit “Cold Blooded” allegedly concerned his brief romance with Blair. Owns her own clothing line called the Wild West Collection of Linda Blair. Did much of her own skating in Roller Boogie (1979) and developed bursitis in her hip as a consequence.As an animal rights activist, Linda has won numerous awards from organizations like P.E.T.A and is also named for helping to end animal abuse around the globe.

One of Linda’s animal dogs was stolen from her and has been involved in stopping animal/pet theft ever since. She wrote a book called “Going Vegan” about veganism. Her horrific turn as “Regan MacNeil” in The exorcist (1973) was placed #9 on AFI’s 100-year list of villains in the American Film Institute (2003). Won the Presidential Fitness Award in her early adolescence. Founder of the Linda Blair World Heart Foundation, which promotes animal rescue and adoption.
