Chiranjeevi Sarja was an Indian film actor who appeared in a number of Kannada movies. He died of cardiac arrest in Bangalore on 7 June 2020.
Chiranjeevi Biography:
Chiranjeevi Sarja was popular as Chiru. He was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, on Friday, October 17, 1980. The sign of his zodiac is Libra. He did his schooling at Baldwin Boys High School in Bangalore. He attended Vijaya College, Bangalore, to finish his graduation. He was born into a Hindu family.
Parents & Siblings:
He was the eldest son of Ammaji and Vijay Kumar. His younger brother’s name is Dhruv Sarja, who is also an actor. Chiranjeevi was the nephew of the South Indian star, Arjun Sarja, and the grandson of veteran actor Kannada, Shakti Prasad.
Relationships, Wife & Children:
On 22 October 2017, he got engaged to his long-time girlfriend, Meghana Raj, who is a South Indian actress. On 30 April 2018, he married Meghana at a Christian-style wedding at St. Anthony’s Church in Koramangala, Bangalore.
The couple was married at the Hindu wedding ceremony at Bengaluru Palace Ground on 2 May 2018.
At the time of his death, his wife was pregnant with his child.
Career:
Before starting his acting career, he worked with his uncle, Arjun Sarja, as assistant director for almost four years. In 2009, he made his debut in the romantic Kannada film, ‘Vayuputra,’ in which he played the role of Balu. For this film, he won the Creative Film Award for Best Debut (Male). Later, he appeared in various South Indian movies, such as ‘Gandedhe’ (2010), ‘Kempegowda’ (2011), ‘Ajith’ (2014), ‘Amma I Love You’ (2018), and ‘Sinnga’ (2019).
Death:
Extreme pain began in his chest on 7 June 2020 and while talking to his father on the phone around 1.10 p.m. on the same day, he collapsed. He was immediately rushed to Apollo Hospital in Jayanagar and pronounced dead by the doctors. His last rites were celebrated on 8 June 2020.
On his death, B. S. Yediyurappa, Chief Minister of Karnataka, said The Canadian film industry has lost a good actor.”
The former Chief Minister of Karnataka, H. D. Kumaraswamy, tweeted, “He was a shining star in the Galaxy of Artists. It is disappointing that he died at a young age.”
