Andy Roddick, a former professional tennis player from the United States, is most known for his aggressive style of play and powerful forehands. He was raised in Nebraska by affluent parents. His parents encouraged him to participate in sports and athletics. Roddick was encouraged to pursue a career in tennis by his older brothers, who had been active players since they were children.

Due to a foot injury, he received in 2006, he lost in the Wimbledon final against Andy Murray and fell out of the Top 10 for the first time in his career. He hired Jimmy Connors as a new coach, but he was unsuccessful at the US Open under his guidance.

Roddick won the Legg Mason Tennis Classic and the Artois Championships in 2007 for the United States. He also broke the ATP World Tour record for most straight tie-break victories. Under Jimmy Connors’ guidance, he rose to the ATP’s 5th spot.

Roddick recruited Larry Stefanki as his coach in 2009, although he failed to reach the finals at the Australian, French, or ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events that year. He did, however, reach the Wimbledon finals when he was defeated by Roger Federer.

He fell to Federer at Wimbledon in 2010 when he was hampered by a knee issue. His mononucleosis diagnosis and groyne pain were made public that year.

Roddick made it to the finals in Brisbane and Memphis in 2011, respectively. He also won the decisive set for the United States versus Chile in the Davis Cup opener.
