Doraisamy Raja is a prominent Indian politician who has served as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) since July 2019. He was born in India on June 3, 1949. He had previously served as a representative for Tamil Nadu in the Rajya Sabha. Between the years 1994 and 2019, he served as the national secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI). While they were both members of the All India Youth Federation, Raja met the woman who would later become his wife, Annie Raja. On January 7, 1990, the couple tied the knot in a low-key ceremony.
They have a daughter together who goes by the name Aparajitha Raja, and she now holds the position of general secretary for the National Federation of Indian Women, which is the women’s branch of the CPI. During her time as a student, Aparajitha Raja was personally active in the activist community. While Raja was out campaigning for election in April 2021, he was given a diagnosis with COVID-19 and needed to be hospitalized at AIIMS for treatment. During his time at the university, he became involved in student politics by joining the All India Students Federation (AISF).
After that, he rose through the ranks to become the head of the All India Youth Federation. During that time, he served as the State Secretary of the Tamil Nadu unit from 1975 to 1980.
