Deb Fischer, a lifelong Nebraskan, is the state’s senior senator. Fischer was elected to the United States Senate for the first time in November 2012, becoming the first Nebraska woman elected to a full term in the Senate and the first Nebraska state senator elected immediately after serving in the state legislature.
