The Government of Uttar Pradesh awarded him the UP Ratna Award for charitable work.He met his spiritual teacher, Sadhguru Anant Sri Vibhuteet Bhagwat Acharya Purushottam Sharan Shastriji, at Sri Dham Vrindavan.
Under the Guru-disciple tradition, he later received his initiation for spiritual education as a follower of the Nimbarka sect.
