After she appeared as a slayer in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” at a young age she became a global phenomenon. She received widespread recognition in the original series and its spin-off, ‘Angel’ for her portrayal of faith. Besides performing before the camera, she is also known for voice performance and has spoken for many popular video games and animation series. Recently she was seen in the television series ‘Bull’ and ‘Banshee,’ but now plays a leading role in a future series called ‘The Black Company.’

Eliza Patricia Dushku was born to Judith Ann and Philip Richard George Dushku on 30 December 1980 in Watertown, Massachusetts. Her mother is a renowned professor of political science. The roots of the family are Danish and English. Her dad’s from Albania.

A casting agent noticed her when she was only 10 years old. She was invited to play Alice’s role in the 1992 drama romance “That Night.” After a five-month search she was chosen and the film helped her achieve her initial success.

After her debut, Dushku has succeeded in playing several roles, including Pearl’s character with Robert De Niro and Leonardo Di Caprio, as part of ‘This Boy’s Life’ (1993). The movie was a sleeper hit and critics appreciated Dushku’s strong on-screen presence.

In 1994 she appeared as her teenage daughter in the James Cameron’s ‘True Lies’ thriller, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis. The film was a rugged success. She also appeared the same year in the short movie “Fishing with George.”

In 1998, Dushku was persuaded by her agent to submit a video audition for an upcoming show despite wishing to continue her studies. Dushku read ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ script and immediately loved it. Her audition was successful and she was elected to play Faith’s role.

When the production of Buffy the Vampire Slayer began, Dushku was still a minor and its role required long working hours. To do this, Dushku was emancipated after he appeared before the judge.

Dushku’s character in ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ was originally intended to only run for five episodes and was so popular that it lashed out until the fourth season. Dushku remained in the series until 2003 while at the same time working on his ‘Angel’ spinoff.
