Govind Singh Dotasra is the President of the Congress Committee in the Rajasthan Pradesh. He is also the Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education, as well as the Minister of Tourism and Devasthan in the Rajasthan government. He is a member of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly’s 15th session and the Congress’s Ex-Chief Whip.
Govind Singh Dotasra was born in Laxmangarh, Rajasthan, India, on October 1, 1964. Late Sri Mohan Singh Dotasra and Rupi Devi are his parents’ names. Mohan Singh Dotasara, his father, was a government teacher. His education began in his native village, and he went on to study B.Com., B.Ed., and LL.B. at the University of Rajasthan.
He married Sunita Devi on March 4, 1984. Sunita Devi, their wife, is a government teacher, and they have two sons. After graduation, he began practising law in the Sikar Court, and for nearly two decades, he has been regarded as one of Sikar’s most well-known lawyers.
Dotasra entered politics in 2005 and stood for panchayat elections, which she won. In 2005, he was elected as Pradhan of Laxmangarh Panchayat Samiti in Sikar (Rajasthan).
In 2008, he stood for the first time in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, winning the Laxmangarh seat by a narrow margin of 34 votes over independent candidate Dinesh Joshi.
In the 2013 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election, he beat former Union Minister of State and three-time MP Subhash Maharia by a margin of 10,723 votes. His party, the Congress, lost more than 160 seats in the state in this election. He is also a member of the Rajasthan Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee for the 2015–16 session.
He preserved the true essence of democracy in his role as opposition whip, taking meaningful opposition into the parliament. Dotasra regularly participates in all Vidhasabha sessions. In the House, he has aggressively addressed public concerns, especially those concerning farmers and the needy.
His oratory talents and aggressive stances have prompted the government to discuss critical issues and made him famous with the general public. He won the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election in 2018 and completed a hat-trick of wins in the Laxmangarh seat of Rajasthan with a landslide margin of 22052 votes, the largest in the entire Sikar district.
