Baba Ramdev is another name for Swami Ramdev. He is a yoga instructor and entrepreneur from India. Ramdev was born in a Hindu household in Saiyad Pur village in Mahendragarh district, Haryana, in 1965 to Ramniwas Yadav and Gulabo Devi; both of his parents were farmers. Ramdev hails from the Arya Samaj lineage. In 2013, Ramdev reported a net worth of “Rs 1,100 crore” for his own holdings. Because of a congenital handicap or a childhood sickness, the left side of his face had been partially paralysed since at least a few months after his birth. Ramdev’s left eye squints and winks involuntarily as a result of the disorder.
Ramdev’s primary yoga centre, Yog Gram, is located in Haridwar, where he performs and teaches yoga in an auditorium that is also carried on TV networks in the mornings and nights. Ramdev established the “Divya Yog Mandir Trust” in 1995. He began appearing on Aastha TV’s morning yoga programme in 2003. There, he proved to be telegenic and drew a sizable audience. His Yoga camps attracted a big number of people, including several celebrities from India and overseas. He had pupils from all over the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. He also spoke to Muslim clerics in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh, at their seminary.
In 2017, an unauthorised biography about him titled Godman to Tycoon: The Untold Story of Baba Ramdev was halted by a district court somewhere. In May 2018, Ramdev partnered with BSNL to launch Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards. He became the face of Patanjali Ayurved, a firm he co-founded with his colleague Balkrishna, during the course of a twenty-year career. Patanjali went on to become one of India’s most successful FMCG brands. Ramdev founded the Divya Yog Pharmacy in Kankhal, Haridwar, in 2012.
The Patanjali Yogpeeth was established to promote and practice Yoga and Ayurveda. Patanjali Yogpeeth I and Patanjali Yogpeeth II in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, are its two Indian campuses. Other destinations include the United Kingdom, the United States, Nepal, Canada, and Mauritius. The Patanjali Yogapeeth’s Vice-Chancellor is Ramdev. In 2006, Ramdev founded the Patanjali Yog Peeth UK Trust with the goal of spreading yoga in the United Kingdom. Patanjali Yogpeeth was expanded by acquiring the Scottish island of Little Cumbrae.
