Lee Hoe-taek is more commonly known by his stage name Hui. He is a singer, songwriter, and composer from South Korea. In October 2016, he made his Cube Entertainment debut as the leader and main vocalist of the boy band Pentagon. He was a member of the co-ed trio Triple H, along with former bandmate Dawn and former labelmate Hyuna, and is the leader of MBC’s Favorite Entertainment trot boy group Super Five.

Hui described the meaning behind his name at Pentagon’s debut showcase: because his real name, Lee Hoe-taek, is difficult to pronounce (especially for foreigners), he chose Hui as a mononym. During a trip to China, he discovered that the first syllable of his name, Hoe/Hwe, is pronounced “Hui/Hwee,” which motivated his decision.

They weren’t supposed to be in the group, but after they recorded the guide, Cube’s Artist Development team decided to release it.
