Wide receiver Julio Jones plays for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League (NFL) (NFL). Atlanta Falcons drafted him sixth overall in NFL Draft 2011. Formerly a standout in the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Year race, he was also a first team All-American and a member of Alabama’s unbeaten team that won the conference’s Western Division title with a perfect 14-0 record.

Since joining the Falcons in 2007, he has been selected to the Pro Bowl five times and to the All-Pro team twice. One time, he guided his club to the playoffs, but they were defeated by the New England Patriots in the “Super Bowl LI.” In 2016 and 2017, he placed eighth and third on the NFL’s Top 100 Players list.

As Quintorris Lopez Jones, Quintorris Lopez Jones was born on February 8, 1989.  A few years after his father’s departure from the family, he found himself alone in the world. To protect him from the rough neighbourhood he grew up in, his mother was quite rigorous about it. Phillip, Phillip’s older brother, lost his arm to gunshot wounds in 2014. Phillip is very close to his younger brother.

He played wide receiver and defensive end for the Lions high school football team in Alabama, scoring 16 touchdowns and catching 75 passes for 1,306 yards as a junior. National Signing Day, he made his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide on ESPNU as a five-star recruit and participated in the High School All-America Game.

Besides being an all-state basketball player, he was also a standout track and field performer, winning the 2006-07 state title of ‘Gatorade T&F Athlete of the Year.’ In 2006 and 2007, he won the long and triple jump titles, as well as the high jump, respectively. Against the Clemson Tigers in the Chick-fil-A College Kickoff, Julio Jones made history as the first true freshman wide receiver to start a season opener for the Crimson Tide. Toward the end of the season, he was awarded the ‘SEC Freshman of the Year’ and received All-SEC honours as well as Coaches’ All-Freshman recognition.

He was one of just four players named to the ‘All-SEC Coaches’ Football Team’ prior to the 2009 season (first team). His team went 12-0 and won the SEC Western Championship, but he lost the SEC Championship Game and the Sugar Bowl after enduring a “sophomore slump” in the first part of the season.

This year, he had 78 receptions for 1,133 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior, becoming only the fourth player in Alabama history to accomplish the feat.. During his three years at Alabama, he finished second in receptions (179), yards (2,653), and touchdown catches (fourth). In 2010, he was named to the first team of the Southeastern Conference (15). Forgoing his senior year of college in order to enter the 2011 NFL Draft, Julio Jones performed admirably even with a broken bone at the NFL Combine in February. He was the sixth pick in the first round when the Atlanta Falcons traded up to get him by selecting him with a trade to the Cleveland Browns.

His four-year contract with the Falcons was signed on July 28, 2011, and he debuted against the Chicago Bears on September 11 at Soldier Field. In a shaky start, he completed the season second among rookie wide receivers in touchdown receptions and yards gained, and he made his postseason debut against the New York Giants despite a lopsided loss.

A stellar start to the 2012 season helped his team to the top of the NFC playoff seedings, where they went 13-3, but they lost the championship game to the San Francisco 49ers. This year, he had 79 receptions for 1,198 yards and 10 touchdowns, which earned him a Pro Bowl nod for the first time.

Against New Orleans, St. Louis, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets, he had a string of excellent performances. His season was cut short when he fractured his foot in Week 5, but he still managed to finish sixth among 458 eligible players in receiving yards.

His career high in receiving yards came against the Arizona Cardinals on November 30, 2014, when he hauled in 10 passes for 189 yards; the following week, against the Green Bay Packers, he hauled in 11 passes for 259 yards. For the season, he set the NFC record with 104 receptions for 1,593 yards, good for third overall in the NFL.

His contract with the Falcons was extended by five years on August 29, 2015, and he had a career-high 13 receptions for 135 yards against the Giants during Week 2 of the season. With 1,871 receiving yards and the second-highest total in NFL history, he was named seventh on the ‘NFL Top 100 Players’ list for the 2015 season.

On October 2, 2016, against the Carolina Panthers, he became the sixth NFL player to reach 300 receiving yards and the first quarterback/wide receiver tandem to reach 500+ passing yards. His 1,409 receiving yards and six touchdowns put him third on the ‘NFL Top 100 Players of 2017’ list as the best wide receiver, with 83 receptions on 129 targets.

Although he and his team finished second in their division, he was voted first-team All-Pro for the second year in a row by the Pro Bowl committee. Even though he made a fantastic grab when his team was leading 28–20, they fell in overtime by a score of 34–28 to the New England Patriots.

In a Super Bowl LI rematch against the New England Patriots, he scored his first receiving touchdown of the season. In week 12 of the season, he was named ‘NFC Offensive Player of the Week’ after a stellar performance of 12 receptions for 253 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Julio Jones was a two-time All-SEC selection as a freshman at the University of Georgia, when he was named the conference’s “Freshman of the Year.” In 2010, he was named to the ‘First Team All-SEC’ list.

Since 2012, he has been a member of the Pro Bowl roster five times, missing only once. In 2015 and 2016, he was named to the NFL’s first team all-star team.
