Mary Cynthia Walsh CM is a Canadian actress, comedian, and writer. She was born on May 13, 1952, in Toronto, Ontario. Her roles on CODCO and This Hour Has 22 Minutes helped make her a household name. She was the daughter of Mary and Leo Walsh and was born in St. John’s, located in Newfoundland and Labrador. Leo began his career as a merchant mariner and then transitioned to working as a fireman aboard commercial boats.
She is the seventh kid out of eight, and her family is originally from Ireland. She used to be a part of the Girl Guides of Canada organization. Walsh attended Ryerson University in Toronto to study theatre but left his studies there to work with the CODCO comedy company on a series of stage productions.
