One of the most popular songs on the album was ‘When a Man Loves a Woman. This album became an instant classic when it was released in 1992 and reached the top of the charts. Nine million copies of the album were sold worldwide.

One of his best-selling albums was ‘The One Thing,’ which he released in 1993. ‘Said I Loved You…But I Lied’, his top-charting single from the album, appeared on it. After its release in 1996, ‘This Is The Time’ became a worldwide hit. There were a lot of copies sold of the album when it was released by Columbia Records. When he released ‘All That Matters’ in 1997, it was one of his less successful albums. The album did not have a significant impact on the music industry.

His comeback album, ‘Only a Woman Like You,’ was released in 2002 and was widely regarded as such. The album didn’t do well, and it didn’t achieve much success in the music industry. Till the End of Forever, the album he released in 2005, featured many of his live performances. It was a huge success. His album, ‘One World One Love,’ came out in 2009. It was a collaborative effort between Tami Chynn, Ne-Yo, and Lady Gaga on the album.  It was released in 2011 and included the works of musicians like A.R. When A Man Loves A Woman won him a Grammy in 1992 for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Male. Maureen McGuire, with whom he has three daughters, was his wife of 35 years until her death in 2005. Later, in 1990, the couple separated amicably.
The year was 1992 when he began seeing Nicollette Sheridan, and they were engaged in 2006. In 2008, they called it quits on their engagement. He was also dating actress Teri Hatcher at the time.

For his charitable work on behalf of those suffering from poverty and abuse, Michael Bolton founded the “Michael Bolton Charities, Inc.” in 1993. Grammy-winning singer admitted he can’t whistle and had to use a dub for one of his solos that featured whistling.
