P. V. Midhun Reddy is an Indian politician who currently represents Rajampet in the 16th Lok Sabha (Lok Sabha constituency). He is the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party’s Panel Speaker of Lok Sabha. He and his party’s MPs resigned from their posts in protest of PM Narendra Modi’s failure to grant special status to AP as promised. On June 5, 2019, he was elected as the leader of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party in the Lok Sabha.

Midhun Reddy Biography:

Midhun Reddy was born on 29 August 1977, Punganur, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. His father’s name is Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy. He is the Former Minister of United Andhra Pradesh. On 8 June 2019, he took oath as cabinet minister for Panchayati raj & rural development, mining & geology in Andhra under the leadership of Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy. P Dwarakanath Reddy, his paternal uncle, was elected to the AP legislative assembly from Thamballapalle in 2019 with the greatest majority in the Chittoor district. According to his assets declaration in his Election Affidavit 2019, he has a total of 665.1 million.


Career:

Electoral performance:

He won the 2014 Indian general election on Former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari of BJP being a Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party candidate.  P.V Mithun Reddy contested in the 2019 Indian General Election from Rajampet (Lok Sabha Constituency) on a Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party ticket and defeated his closest rival D K Satya Prabha of Telugu Desam Party with a majority of 268,284 votes.

First-term 2014–2018:

He started his first term as a member of parliament on May 18, 2014, and his term ended on June 20, 2018. His individual attendance rate in Parliament was 53%.

Second term 2019–2024:

In May 2019, he started his second term as a member of parliament.

Assaults and behavioral disputes:

Assault on airport employee:

On November 26, 2015, he allegedly slapped or harassed an Air India Station Manager, S. Rajasekhar, at Tirupati Airport, and a criminal case was filed against him upon his arrival from Bangkok around 01:30 p.m. while issuing boarding passes. The official did not file a complaint right away, but after being compelled to do so by Senior Civil Aviation Officials. An Air India employee suffered rib cage and spine fractures and was transferred to a private hospital in Hyderabad.

Immigration officials apprehended him in Chennai and turned him over to the AP Police. He was brought from Chennai to the Srikalahasti Police Station with Co-accused Srikalahasti Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party Co-in charge Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy. They were brought before a First Class Judicial Magistrate, who remanded them in custody for 14 days. Then he was transferred to Nellore Sub-Jail. Andhra police had previously registered a case against him, and 19 others, including the Chandragiri MLA, were summoned for questioning. If he did not appear for questioning, the police issued an arrest warrant and issued a red alert in all Indian airports.
