Today I will tell you about HOW TO CONTACT Pat Roberts ?
Pat Roberts, full name Charles Patrick Roberts, is an American politician who was elected to the United States Senate as a Republican in 1996 and began his first term representing Kansas in that chamber the following year. From 1981 until 1997, he was a member of the United States House of Representatives.
Roberts grew up in a family of journalists and politicians; his father was head of the Republican National Committee in 1953, and his great-grandfather started a newspaper during the colonial period. Roberts earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas State University in Manhattan in 1958. That year, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served until 1962, when he retired with the rank of captain. He then relocated to Arizona, where he worked as a reporter and editor for a number of publications. In 1967, he returned to Kansas to work as an aide to U.S. Senator Frank Carlson, and the following year, he joined the staff of U.S. Representative Keith Sebelius (later to become Kathleen Sebelius, governor of Kansas from 2003 to 2009 and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services from 2009 to 2014). Roberts married in 1969 and has three children with his wife, Franki.
When Sebelius announced his retirement in 1980, Roberts ran for the seat and won easily in the overwhelmingly Republican 1st congressional district. He usually pursued conservative policies after gaining office the next year, notably on social issues; he was a prominent opponent of abortion and same-sex marriage. Seven times, Roberts was re-elected.
He ran for the Senate seat vacated by Nancy Kassebaum in 1996 and won. Roberts voted for the use of military force against Iraq in 2002 and generally supported military expenditures as a senator. He was the head of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence from 2003 to 2007. During President Barack Obama’s administration, he later opposed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (2010), as well as a number of other Democratic measures.
