Rashid Khan Contact Address

Rashid Khan is an Afghan cricketer who now plays for both the Afghan national team and the ‘Indian Premier League’ (IPL) franchise ‘Sunrisers Hyderabad.’ Rashid was born in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, into a large family. He was the eldest of eleven children in his family. He grew raised in appalling circumstances, as Afghanistan was engulfed in conflict at the time. His family migrated to Pakistan for a few years when Rashid Khan developed an interest in cricket for the first time. Rashid’s family relocated to Afghanistan after the country’s circumstances stabilised.

Rashid continued his education there. Rashid has developed into an all-rounder. He made his Test debut against India in 2008. Afghanistan were playing their first-ever Test match, and Rashid was superb throughout. Rashid became the ICC one-day international (ODI) rankings’ youngest bowler in February 2018 at the age of 19. Rashid also topped the ICC’s all-rounder rankings following his great performance in the 2018 ‘Asia Cup.’ He became the sport’s youngest captain when he captained Afghanistan during the 2018 ‘World Cup Qualifier’ campaign. He was signed by the ‘Indian Premier League’ team ‘Sunrisers Hyderabad’ in 2017. He also represented Afghanistan’s national teams, most notably ‘Kabul Zwanan.’

Rashid Khan was born Rashid Khan Arman on September 20, 1998, in Nangarhar, Afghanistan, into a huge family. He was raised in a family of ten brothers and sisters. While he was still a child, the 9/11 attacks occurred. This precipitated the outbreak of war in Afghanistan. As a result of the Afghan war, Rashid’s family migrated to Pakistan. Rashid spent a significant chunk of his adolescence in that city.

Following a significant improvement in the situation in Afghanistan a few years later, Rashid’s family returned and he started his studies. He excelled intellectually and performed admirably on a consistent basis. He aspired to be a physician, but cricket was on his mind as well.

Afghanistan had been seized by the ‘Taliban,’ and the country’s sports sector was in shambles. Even Rashid’s parents were opposed to him making a profession playing cricket. Despite these restrictions, cricket developed in Afghanistan, led by Rashid.

Rashid idolised Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi and patterned his bowling motion after him. Rashid began his professional cricket career in his late teens. When Rashid began pursuing a career in cricket, the game was in an absolutely infantile state in Afghanistan. He was handed his first opportunity to join the national squad in 2015. He made his One-Day International debut against another weak team, Zimbabwe, on October 18, 2015. He also made his Twenty20 international (T20I) debut a week later against Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan was once referred to as an associate nation in international cricket, which indicated it belonged to the category of lower teams. As a result, the majority of his international appearances came against lesser opponents, including Ireland and Zimbabwe.

Rashid was regarded as an all-rounder with exceptional bowling ability. He took his first 5-wicket haul against Ireland in March 2017, allowing only three runs. This was an Afghan player’s greatest T20I performance. Furthermore, it was the bowler’s joint-fourth-best figure in a T20I match. He also set a new T20I record by taking five wickets in under two overs.

During the same tour, Rashid took six wickets in an ODI match. Afghanistan was establishing a reputation as a formidable squad at the time.In June 2017, the Afghan squad travelled to the West Indies to play a significantly stronger team. Rashid took seven wickets for 18 runs in one of the One-Day International matches. He became the first associate nation player to take seven wickets in an ODI. Afghanistan stunned the world by winning, and Rashid was named ‘Man of the Match.’

The ICC named Rashid the 2018 ‘Associate Cricketer of the Year,’ recognising his rising talent. Afghanistan’s captain for the 2018 ‘World Cup Qualifier’ event was chosen by him. Rashid was also included on the International Cricket Council’s list of players to watch throughout the qualifiers.

In June 2018, Afghanistan qualified for Test cricket. Their initial match was against India, and Rashid made his Test debut in the match. On the other hand, his performance in the game was atrocious.
