When Steve Johnson finished his college career with a 72-match victory streak, he launched himself into a successful professional tennis career and is now set to make his first Olympic appearance. This year, Johnson, who is rated No. 21 in the world in singles, won his first professional singles and doubles titles in Nottingham and Geneva, respectively.

A 72-match winning streak in singles helped Johnson earn the NCAA Singles Championship in 2012, and he also helped the Trojan team to its fourth straight NCAA Team Championship. Defeated Kentucky’s Eric Quigley to win the singles title and be undefeated for the season, going 37-0. In singles, he finished the season as the nation’s top player, and in doubles, he was No. 2.
